Sample Week
Each day is a new adventure.
The flow: We start at Burton Chace, and daily we will bring campers to field trip locations such as Lighthouse Beach, Kenneth Hahn Park, a working sailing ship, and other wild LA locations to spark curiosity, engagement, and creativity.
During group rotations, campers will be grouped in age-based cohorts to match ability levels. Have a friend in a different grade? Don’t worry, there are PLENTY of opportunities for play and collaboration outside of group rotations.
Monday
Activities: Beach stories, games, and survival skills like shelter construction and safe fire building. Focus: Warmth, leadership, and energy.
Tuesday
Activities: Kite-making and flying, wind-powered experiments, and hiking to connect with nature’s breeze.
Focus: Creativity, freedom, and exploration.
Wednesday
Activities: Sailing, water-based crafts, and games focused on teamwork and flow.
Focus: Adaptability, movement, and cooperation.
Thursday
Activities: Nature scavenger hunts, eco-crafts, gardening projects, and rock painting.
Focus: Grounding, growth, and environmental awareness.
Friday
Special Event: A festival-style celebration where campers combine the lessons from the week to complete collaborative challenges. Activities will include relay races, obstacle courses, and a final community art project.
... PLUS! Lots of directed play, field games and structured time with friends, new and old. Camp is gonna be SO FUN!!!
