THE TRIP

A Channel Islands weekend of creativity and purpose aboard Lindy, a 75-foot WWII-era sailboat. For the adventurous and adventure-curious, this trip departs Marina del Rey en route to the undeveloped and uncommonly beautiful Channel Islands, specifically the island of Santa Cruz off the Santa Barbara coast. Participants get their own berth and sleep aboard a magical boat with all the amenities, including high-speed satellite internet (subject to tech cooperating.

We’ll sleep at anchor. Shore trips by dinghy to explore the island and light programming to encourage creativity and new friendships. Plenty of unstructured time to relax, read, converse, and write. This trip opportunity is for writers, producers, journalists, filmmakers, editors, film & tv execs, and other narrative craftspeople.

It’s a creative jolt with new friends, and also a way to organically explore how we can all use our powers to create lasting impact on others and the planet. It takes place in one of the most unique and majestic environments in the world. All meals included, plus a dinner meet & greet and safety orientation on the boat prior to departure.

No sailing or boating experience required, just a positive attitude and a collaborative spirit. Inspiration guaranteed.

TENTATIVE ITINERARY

• 1-2 weeks before departure: Join us on the boat leading up to the trip (date tbd) for meet-and-greet, orientation, and safety briefing. Dinner provided.

• July 27: Departure! Arrive at the boat at 8:00 A.M. for early departure. The trip to Santa Cruz Island is ~7.5 hrs.

• July 27-29: Light creative workshop, shore trips, free time. All meals provided. No two trips are identical.

• July 30: Depart island and arrive back in Marina del Rey @ 4PM (16:00) to disembark.

HOW TO JOIN

To register, complete the Onward Trip Registration by clicking here or pressing the ‘Register Now’ button below. You'll be asked to complete the form — make sure you hit submit. Indicate '2023: Channel Islands Adventure’ as your preferred trip. 

Once we receive your registration, we ask for 50% of the balance, due immediately. The final 50% of the balance will be due 15 days prior to the departure date. Terms and conditions are in the registration form, and you'll be asked to agree to them before submitting your deposit. Please read them carefully.
